British Science Week
As part of British Science Week, Early Years are participating in the Ready to Hatch project.
The project is a two-week period of incubation and hatching of live eggs. At the end of the project the chicks are re-housed on free range farms across the country. Amongst many other things, our pupils will be learning about life-cycles, caring for live animals as well as learning new vocabulary.
The children have enjoyed watching the eggs hatch as well as seeing the chicks develop and stroking their feathers.
We are grateful to the British Science Week Kick Start grant scheme for providing the funding for our children to benefit from this experience.
